This item is an Animatronic Polar Bear Suit built in 2011 here in Animal Makers. These suits were just recently performed in "Summertime is Pepsi Time" commercials through ad agency Chiat-Day and shot by Joe Pytka. The Polar Bear heads were originally created for the hit tv series, "Lost". Head offers animation in the jaw, upper lip lifts, lower lip drops (good for talking and kissing), eyes blink, ears wiggle. Two suits are in stock. One is slightly smaller than the other. There is an actual TV prop from "LOST" that is available separately.
One of the best features to these new suits, is that the heads are completely adjustable to face forward, even if the suit is working on "all fours". This is a great advancement which helps the film maker make contact with this character. To see this feature in action, see the Pepsi video's opening shot. The "lazy bear" position of the head is completely different than the rest of the shots.
The polar bear's facial skin is made of foamed latex and the under-shells are created in epoxy with fiberglas cloth. The animatronics are made of lightweight aluminum tubing, and swaged stainless steel cable. The eyes are hand painted acrylic with an overcoating. The fur is hand-wefted National Fiber Tech material. The fur is blended with several types of fibers and colors for realism. Claws were created in flexible urethane for safety.
Animal Makers let's you stay in control of your film set! Instead of demanding that you book certain actors, performers, or wardrobe crew; your production can simply rent the suit! We recommend casting the performer as any talent would be cast. Some performers provide comedy actions, some provide more realistic bear movements. The best performance is guaranteed, when time is spent casting the right performer.
Wardrobe crew can be your normal booking. Simple, easy to follow videos are provided to reveal the dressing techniques.
