This item replicates an 8' long, 100 pound Caribbean Reef Shark. It is created with a silicone skin. It can be built with a jointed fiberglass armature and diver-operated internal buoyancy compensator. This is a more expensive prop as it is expected to work at neutral bouyancy in a filmed environment. As it is priced, it is built to be a stunt double for a real shark. It can offer a posable jaw and realistic body movement in the "sale-new-customized" film-maker's version. This shark can also be a convincing: silky shark or dusky shark. The latin name of the Reef Shark is Carcharhinus perezi. These are Requiem Sharks of the family Carcharhinidae. Primarily found in the Atlantic Ocean from Florida to Brazil.
The rental pricing reflects a stuffy configuration. This is a realistic, silicone skin over a soft, flexible, urethane foam inner core. The higher end ""customized" version includes an inner framework upgrade. No Urethane foam inside. Instead, the shark model is hollow inside, allowing water to enter. This keeps the fish much more stable and positionable when used underwater.
